The terms that govern your use of this website, and a summary of our client guarantees.

1. About us

The Authority Machine is a business trading in the UK, and the operator of this website. Our books are published under the TCA Publishing imprint. You can contact us at support@theauthoritymachine.co.uk. Full business details are available on request.

2. Accepting these terms

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here is the one that applies.

3. Using the website

You may view and share our content for your own personal or business use. You may not copy, republish, resell or pass off our content, designs, logos, the Authority Scorecard, or our frameworks (such as the five things that make an expert visible) as your own without our written permission. All intellectual property on this site is ours or used under licence.

4. The Authority Scorecard

The Authority Scorecard and the report it produces are provided free, as general guidance to help you understand where you stand. They are informational, not professional, legal or financial advice, and the results reflect the answers you give. We do not guarantee any particular business outcome from taking the scorecard.

5. Our services and guarantees

When you buy a service from us, a separate written client agreement governs that work, including scope, timescales, payment and the guarantees below. In summary, our guarantees are:

The Authority Guarantee

On time, or your money back. Your book is published within 90 days (we plan for 70), or you receive a full refund, provided you meet your agreed review turnarounds along the way.
You'll be proud of it, or we keep going. We revise at each stage until you are happy to hand your book to a prospect, within the book's agreed scope.
The right method, or your money back on day one. If, after your first session, the method we draw out of you is not genuinely yours, we stop there and refund you in full.

You keep 100% of the rights and royalties to your book. The full terms and definitions of these guarantees are set out in your client agreement, which takes precedence over this summary.

6. What we do not guarantee

We stand behind our delivery, our quality, and the guarantees above. We do not guarantee sales, income, a bestseller ranking, media coverage, speaking engagements, or any other specific business result. Those depend on many factors outside our control, and anyone promising them is not being straight with you.

7. How your book is made

We use AI-assisted tools in our book production, and we are open about it (see How Your Book Gets Made). We keep a complete, timestamped record of how each book is created. We do not claim that books are produced without AI.

8. Liability

We provide this website and our free tools on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or the free tools. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Paid services are governed separately by your client agreement.

9. Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Notice.

10. Links to other websites

We may link to third-party websites for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
